Just a couple of months before the premiere! We’re counting down the days! The team has been very busy with the final phases of production, so here’s a quick update. Our incredible animation department, led by Gabe Hordos, finished its work a few weeks ago and now our Lighting and Visual Effects teams are putting the finishing touches on the film, and they’re stunning.  Last week we flew to London to do something I’d been fantasizing about for years: visit Abbey Road Studios where our composer, Alexandre Desplat, is conducting the London Symphony Orchestra for the recording of his beautiful score for our movie.  Alexandre’s been working furiously for the last few months on the music and it’s so perfect for the movie, so magical and so much fun — I guarantee there won’t be a dry eye in the house (at least not mine!!).  It really will be the crowning moment to date. Coming up soon on the blog: A few of our artists recently recorded drawing tutorials for the characters. We’re excited to share those with you (to tie you over until November!), and we’re even planning on hosting a fan art contest so we can see what you’ve created. So that’s what’s going on right now…I can’t believe we’re actually at this point.  It’s like a dream, a dream created by a whole team of amazing, talented people, and I can’t wait to be able to share it with all of you.   It won’t be long now!
Talk to you soon!

Peter

I absolutely love Gabe’s work! What he’s done on Dragons and now Guardians…
Can’t wait to hear Alexandre Desplat’s score (I really loved what he did for King’s Speech).
Last few miles!
